Integrated Circuits (iCs) are extremely miniaturized electronic devices that implement one or more functions on a chip with a few square milimeters of area, something that would otherwise be accomplished through using many discrete components. Therefore the advantages are clear: lower area, lower power consumption, higher reliablity and higher device integration (optical and magnetic sensors, drivers, converters, etc) can be achieved.

Application Specific iCs (ASiCs) are designed from the start with customer requirements in mind, which guarantees best performance and functionality. iC-BR projects are conducted according to technical specifications defined beforehand, during the initial feasibility study, leading to a completely customized product.

iC-BR's partnership with iC-Haus is a valuable competitive advantage regarding ASiC design and manufacturing, as the german company has been on the market for over 25 years. Not only does it have plenty of know-how to offer, it also possesses facilities for chip packaging and testing, thus being able to conduct such important manufacturing steps in-house. Furthermore iC-Haus is a renowned supplier for the automotive, medical and automation industry in Europe.

How will it be manufactured?

Initially the customer must define the key functionality and specifications desired. iC-BR will then analyze the project and its feasibility. After these steps, the ASiC will be designed by iC-BR in cooperation with iC-Haus, who will also be responsible for manufacturing, packaging and testing of the iCs.
